Class 3 Driver Training
The Class 3 Driver Training course prepares you to operate trucks with more than two axles or trucks with two axles towing vehicles over 4,540 kg. This course is ideal for those looking to enter careers as dump truck, cement truck, vacuum truck, sewer truck, or grain truck drivers. Gain the skills and knowledge needed to obtain your Class 3 license with air brake endorsement.
Course Overview:
Gain hands-on skills and industry knowledge in:
- Safe operation of Class 3 vehicles
- Air brake systems and endorsements
- Pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Road safety and driving techniques
Course Details:
- Location: Room 231, 55 UCN Drive, Thompson, MB
- Dates: July 25 - 27, 2025 (road test scheduled separately)
- Cost: $3,100 per student (includes course materials and one attempt at the Manitoba Public Insurance road test)
- Duration: 3 days
- Learning Format: Practical, on-the-road training with in-truck experience

Check Your Eligibility To enroll, you must meet the following prerequisites:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a valid full Class 5 license (Stage F)
- Possess a Class 3A authorized instruction/learner’s permit
- Have an authorized Air Brake Permit (“I” endorsement)
- Have a valid medical record on file with Manitoba Public Insurance
Once all prerequisites are met, UCN will issue a conditional acceptance letter that can be provided to sponsors. Final acceptance is confirmed upon payment.

This one-day, hands-on course instructs new workers on compliance with Workplace Safety and Health Regulations. Participants will receive information on implementing practical procedures to control traffic, including the required personal protective equipment, incident management, and protection of work, co-workers, and the general public. Upon successful completion, you'll earn a Flag Person Training Certificate.
