HERE YOU CAN. | Build Your Future in the Heavy-Duty Trades
Start your career in one of Canada’s most in-demand trades with our 10-month Heavy-Duty Mechanic Pre-Employment Program. Designed for hands-on learners, this program provides the foundational skills, knowledge, and real-world experience needed to begin an apprenticeship and enter the workforce with confidence.
Program Overview
Our Heavy-Duty Mechanic Pre-Employment Program prepares students for entry-level positions in the heavy equipment trade through a blend of classroom instruction, shop-based training, and industry exposure. Over 10 months, students gain practical experience working with the systems, tools, and technologies standard to heavy-duty equipment used in construction, transportation, mining, and agriculture.
Students can earn accreditation toward their Level 1 Heavy-Duty Technician training and accumulate up to half of the required apprenticeship hours for Level 1. The program concludes with a six-week workplace practicum, during which students apply their skills in real-world settings. Many students secure employment directly from their practicum placements.
With small class sizes of up to 12 students, learners benefit from individualized instruction, a supportive environment, and strong connections to local industry partners across northern Manitoba - Apply Now
