The Northern Manitoba Mining Academy (NMMA)
The Northern Manitoba Mining Academy is a branch of UCN dedicated to training skilled, safety-centered, and industry-ready workers. Through hands-on, short-term programs, our goal is to equip students and workers with the practical skills, certifications, and knowledge needed to succeed in Northern Manitoba’s mining, industrial, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
About Us
The Northern Manitoba Mining Academy (NMMA) is UCN’s hub for mining-focused training in Northern Manitoba. We provide practical, hands-on training to build a skilled and sustainable workforce in Northern Manitoba. Located in Flin Flon, the NMMA partners with local communities and the mining industry to strengthen safety, productivity, and economic opportunities in the North.
Our programs provide hands-on, mining-focused training in areas such as underground and surface operations, equipment safety, and industry certifications. Guided by UCN’s values, NMMA is committed to excellence, real-world learning, and developing Northern Manitoba’s mining workforce.

Our Location
The Academy is located in Flin Flon, Manitoba—on the edge of the ancient Precambrian Shield and within the renowned Flin Flon–Snow Lake Greenstone Belt, one of the most prolific mining regions in the world.
