What You’ll Learn

  • Equipment & Operations – Rock scaling, hoisting, and other essential mining tasks
  • Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR) Training – Practice mining techniques in a state-of-the-art simulated environment to enhance learning and safety.
  • Mine Site Tours – Experience real mining environments, gaining firsthand insight into daily operations.

Mining Fundamentals Work Placement

Mining Fundamentals is a hands-on work placement delivered in partnership with Hudbay in Snow Lake. Participants gain practical experience in an active mining environment through:

  • on-site training
  • underground experiences
  • job shadowing
  • mine tours
  • and safety training.
