Instruction & Research

I teach Indigenous Literature, Canadian Literature, and culturally responsive pedagogy at the University College of the North (UCN). My courses focus on Indigenous voices, oral traditions, and decolonizing approaches to literary study.

My research centers on Indigenous social enterprises in Northern Manitoba, exploring how communities incorporate traditional cultural knowledge into contemporary economic and social development. I utilize Indigenous Standpoint Theory through community-engaged partnerships with Elders, knowledge keepers, and youth.

I also collaborate across disciplines with colleagues in Aboriginal and Northern Studies, Education, and various community organizations. Additionally, I co-founded Muses from the North, a student literary journal that celebrates Indigenous voices in Northern Manitoba. Furthermore, I work as a literary translator between Chinese and English, facilitating cross-cultural literary exchange as part of my broader scholarly practice.
