Instruction & Research

My research focuses on sustainable resource recovery, and biological treatment technologies for waste management. With a background in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from Lagos State University and a doctorate degree at the University of Borås (Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery), my work integrates environmental engineering, anaerobic biotechnology, and process optimization to convert organic and industrial wastes into value-added products.

My research expertise lies in dry anaerobic digestion, biogas production, and high-solids waste treatment systems. I have contributed significantly to the development and optimization of plug-flow and textile bioreactors, improving process stability, methane yield, and digestate quality. My studies address key operational challenges such as solids loading rates, volatile fatty acid accumulation, inoculum diversity, bioreactor types and pretreatment strategies for complex substrates including food waste, manure, keratin, citrus residues, and lignocellulosic materials. My work emphasizes cost-effective and scalable technologies suitable for both developed and developing contexts, particularly in advancing methane mitigation strategies and sustainable solid waste management frameworks.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, laboratory experimentation, reactor design, and economic evaluation, my research contributes to climate change mitigation, renewable energy production, and the advancement of zero-waste strategies. My scholarly output includes peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters with Elsevier, and international conference presentations, reflecting sustained contributions to environmental biotechnology and sustainable engineering innovation.
