UCN Announces Student Housing Facility in Flin Flon

(Flin Flon, MB) – The University College of the North (UCN) is excited to announce plans for a dedicated student housing facility in Flin Flon. This initiative ensures that students attending short-term programs have a place to stay, reflecting UCN’s dedication to overcoming barriers to education in northern Manitoba.

By providing students with a convenient and affordable place to stay, we will empower people to follow their dreams and improve their and their families’ lives.”
The new modular housing facility solves a pressing logistical challenge and strengthens UCN’s capacity to offer its most popular and industry-relevant programs in Flin Flon.
“UCN is deeply committed to training skilled professionals who meet the demands of northern Manitoba’s industries,” said Doug Lauvstad, UCN President and Vice-Chancellor. “This housing facility represents an important step in delivering on that promise, ensuring our students have the support they need to succeed.”
Site preparation is set to begin as early as February 2025, and the facility is expected to welcome students by Summer 2025. This development highlights UCN’s commitment to fostering education, empowerment, and growth across northern Manitoba.
