History (BA)

The study of history is concerned with the record of past events and developments. Incorporating a variety of critical perspectives, theoretical approaches, and methodologies. History offers analysis of and commentary upon the cultural, political, intellectual, social, and economic dimensions of past human experience and endeavour.

Certification Options
History students will complete 30 credit hours of coursework in History for the three-year B.A. degree. Prior to declaring the major in History, students must complete HIS.1000 and HIS.1001. This requirement may be waived with permission of the Dean.

Students who choose a major or minor in English must meet all general requirements for the BA degree, as well as the specific major/ minor requirements.

Students should meet with a faculty advisor prior to declaring a major or minor, and should always meet with academic and faculty advisors prior to registering for courses.
