Article 10: Delighted at Dawn and Dusk
By Ellora Reddy
Delighted at Dawn and Dusk is a set of digital art works composed of three pieces, Dawn, Dusk and Delighted. They were drawn on a computer art program, PaintTool SAI.
Delighted at Dawn and Dusk tries to show the harmony in nature at anytime (i.e., at dawn and at dusk). By using the unicorn rabbit in light color, and the jack lope in the dark color, this set of works shows that the rabbits stay with nature peacefully no matter where they are. By placing these two characters indoors and outdoors, Delighted illustrates that the rabbits are enjoying their companies comfortably and peacefully with human beings and other animals.
Delighted at Dawn and Dusk presents a world of fantasy and expresses the artist’s hope for a peaceful world.
About the Artist: Ellora Reddy started drawing from a young age. Finding inspiration from cartoons, as a child, she drew whenever she had a pencil and paper in hand. At the age of ten, she discovered digital drawings online by many artists. For the next eight years, she spent countless hours testing out different art programs on the computer to improve her skill. She finds drawing relaxing.
Ellora favors digital art over other mediums because it doesn’t need paint or space. She doesn’t need to clean up the messy studio after her drawing. In spite of her busy school work, she could still sneak to the computer and draw anything she could imagine.
Ellora Reddy is a second year student of Arts program. Finding art is a good way to express emotions and ideas visually, Ellora hopes to create her own comic drawings to share her stories with other readers.
Instructor’s Remark: I am very pleased to see Ellora’s artwork published in our first edition of Muse from the North. Once you get to know Ellora, you will discover that she certainly has a deep artistic sensibility. I am very pleased to have been a part of that creative process, and I hope this opportunity will encourage her to enlarge her artistic portfolio. (Dr. Mcinnis Gilbert)
