FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 26, 2024
(The Pas, MB) – University College of the North (UCN) is excited to announce the upcoming UCN Linkages The Pas Conference, scheduled for October 8-9, 2024, at the Kikiwak Inn and UCN Campus.
This year’s keynote speakers will reflect the conference theme of ‘Innovation + Renewal’ by discussing disruptive innovation, emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, leadership through change, and more. Experiences will be shared from Mattel, Indigenous Post Secondary, and Deloitte. These topics and speakers will facilitate meaningful conversations and refreshing ideas for the North.
“UCN Linkages The Pas provides an opportunity for the North to connect and collaborate,” said Doug Lauvstad, UCN President and Vice-Chancellor. “We are stronger together, and this event offers us a chance to engage in conversations and explore exciting opportunities for our communities and organizations.”
An exciting addition to this year’s conference is a Networking Dinner. Participants can connect, share a meal catered by UCN Culinary Art Students, and engage with government members and organizations. This new arrangement aims to mix up attendees, establish fresh connections, and encourage meaningful conversations.
UCN Linkages is a recurring economic development conference. UCN hosts two annual conferences: one in The Pas and one in Thompson. These conferences serve as catalysts for creative, critical thinking, and collaborative conversations about northern economic development and the future.
UCN invites all interested individuals, students, organizations, and stakeholders to attend the UCN Linkages The Pas Conference on October 8-9, 2024. Registration is free at ucnlinkages.ca.
University College of the North provides learning opportunities to northern communities while respecting diverse Indigenous and northern values.
