UCN Celebrates 25-Year Partnership with University of Manitoba in Nursing Education
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 11, 2024
(The Pas/Thompson, MB) – University College of the North (UCN) is proud to celebrate its 25-year partnership with the University of Manitoba (UofM) in offering the Baccalaureate of Nursing degree at UCN campuses. Over the 25 years, the program has produced over 500 registered nurses, many of whom have gone on to serve and make a difference in Northern Manitoba.
A celebratory event will mark this significant milestone. The event will provide an opportunity to showcase UCN’s Clinical Skills Laboratory, Simulation Laboratory, and Virtual Reality Simulation Laboratory – all of which provide our students with an exceptional learning environment in the North. We are pleased to host leaders from the UofM Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing.
“We are excited to share this significant milestone with our supporters, community leaders, advocates, and funders. The successful partnership between UCN and UofM has made a real difference in healthcare in the North,” said Helga Bryant, UCN Dean of Health.
The event will be held on March 12, 2024, at 2 p.m., at The Pas Campus located at 436 7th Street East. A Thompson Campus event will take place on March 13, 2024, also at 2 p.m., located at 55 UCN Drive. Both will highlight the achievements of our students and the collaborative efforts between UCN and UofM.
RSVP to events@ucn.ca, and we will be delighted to welcome you to this partnership celebration. Any past graduates from this program over the past 25 years are welcome to join the events.
University College of the North provides learning opportunities to northern communities while respecting diverse Indigenous and northern values.
