Duties

Reporting to the Dean, Kenanow Faculty of Education, the Administrative Assistant serves as the primary on site contact for the Faculty office and provides clerical and administrative support to the Dean and Kenanow Faculty of Education department. The Administrative Assistant supports daily office operation by providing front line service to students, staff and the public as well as on site administrative support for activities and events. The incumbent will assist with office administration, budgeting, organizing and scheduling meetings, preparation and distribution of a wide range of reports, correspondence and meeting minutes, arranging travel, supporting recruitment activities, responding to inquiries and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Faculty office.

Required Qualifications

• Office Assistant Certificate: equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in reviewing and monitoring office budgets
• Experience coordinating and scheduling travel arrangements
• Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office 365 and ability to use Zoom and/or Teams
• Ability to take initiative, work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment, multitask and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
• Commitment to life-long learning

• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
